This is a follow-up to Welcome to Harmony. It is not necessarily a sequel. Dillon, the protagonist in Harmony, does appear along with the other characters. However, the title character, Gwen Gladstone, is the protagonist here. She’s also my first female protagonist EVER.
Like Harmony, this book deals a lot with family and friendships and being accepted for who you are without faking it. Trust me, our girl Gwen is no conformist.
This book is a bit darker than Harmony. It deals with death and demons, depression and anxiety. This was my first attempt at writing about mental illness (Depression and anxiety are two things I know about oh so well) and won’t be my last.
Please enjoy Gwen Gladstone. It was designed to be read as a stand-alone, but I’ve been told it is a much more enjoyable when read after Welcome to Harmony (Not that I’m trying to sway you into buying both books …).
