I finished this book years ago but was nervous about releasing it. It was different and a bit of an experiment. I wasn’t sure if it would be well-received or if readers would even get it.

I finally decided “Why not?”

I’d always wanted to write a high-fantasy book like the ones I loved reading when I was a kid. I loved the escapism, and as I began writing these kinds of stories when I was younger, I enjoyed a new level of escapism as well as a feeling of empowerment as I created worlds where anything was possible and only limited by my imagination.

But I wanted to do something different. So why not a book about a boy who writes high-fantasy stories?

As I wrote this book, it became more and more meaningful to me. It became a testament to my love for the fantasy genre. It also allowed me to express my appreciation for the power of the craft of writing, as my protagonist, Ronnie Jackman (Whose name is an homage to two legendary fantasy authors), is inspired to write fantasy stories by a mysterious substitute teacher. It gives him much needed confidence and helps him deal with a recent tragedy he has faced

I included the stories Ronnie “wrote” within the main narrative as they are directly related to and affect his real life.
